We would like to tell you a little about us and how in mid 2013 the concept of a new veterinary practice was developed between Hammad Sarwar and Vincent Wager, now co-owners of Valley Vetcare in Rochdale. Vince qualified in 2001 and had worked in various positions, including being clinical director of two veterinary practices, and was working for Hammad at Shuttleworth Veterinary Group. He had owned this practice since 2008 which gave a strong foundation for a new vets. With over 30 years of experience and a lot of dedication and hard work .

The intended location of the new vets was to be in Rochdale. Over several weeks various sites were investigated until a client happened to mention that they were selling a building on Whitworth Road. “From the moment we walked in the door, we knew the building and it’s character were right for what we were looking for” says Vince. Previously a public house, The Globe, had been extensively renovated, retaining many of the original features (including the bar which is now the reception desk!). “Combined with a large rear car park, great access to link roads and modern interior it had all the features which our clients would need”. Finally in April 2014 the doors were opened for the first time.

So here at Valley Vetcare, what do we do? The aim has always been to provide exceptional service in a relaxed friendly environment. The fantastic reception team will greet you and treat your pet as one of their own. We understand that a trip to the vets can be stressful in a number of ways and we will try to help you and your companion as much as possible. We have a separate waiting area for cats and rabbits as we know they can get worried here. If you prefer to wait in the car before your appointment, especially with dogs, we can facilitate this too. We even have a practice vehicle so that we can do home visits if required (and we deliver food or medicines free of charge if requested!).

Our veterinary and nursing teams are very experienced at a wide range of problems. From first vaccinations to neutering, through to the varied range of illness or injuries that may occur, we are well equipped to deal and look after your pet. Whether your cat has a sore tooth that needs removing or your dog has injured his knee, we have the knowledge and skill to treat them.

To help with the cost of the treatment we have a number of products available to you. The first is our range of Complete Health Care Plans. These plans include all the routine vaccinations, parasite control and yearly health checks that your pet requires to keep them protected. You will also benefit from a range of savings on other services. The next level Platinum Plan also includes the cost of all the veterinary or nurse consultations if your pet becomes unwell. The only thing to pay for then is any medications, tests or operations if they are required. If you are not on one of the plans, then you can still take advantage of the Well Pet Club, which for a yearly fee also covers the cost of these consultations. Our Loyalty Card scheme allows points to be collected every time you spend, and once full the cards can be redeemed against selected products and services. We also work closely with a number of charities to provide neutering schemes.
