Welcome to Valley Vetcare

In April 2014 we opened the doors for the first time to our new vets in Rochdale. It was the culmination of 6 months of planning and dedication to bring a new level of care to your pet. Hammad Sarwar and Vincent Wager are experienced veterinary surgeons with over 30 years of practice between them, and decided to team together to create Valley Vetcare.

The aim was to create a modern veterinary surgery, with staff that treat your pet as if it was their own. At the same time, the goal is to provide the highest level of medical and surgical care. We chose the site on Whitworth Road for its accessibility ensuring we could be easily  reached from all areas of Rochdale. There is a large private car park to the rear of the building that makes parking easy when you arrive. The building was the former Globe public house which is a historic town landmark and we have preserved as many original features as possible. Inside, the practice is modern and light and we have tried to create the most comfortable reception area for you and your pet, with a separate area for cats and other smaller pets.

We understand a trip to the vets can be worrying but when you arrive the reception team will greet you and try to make you feel as much at home as possible. We can help with a variety of problems whether you want advice on feeding to taking your pet abroad. We do this through a range of consultations from the veterinary and nursing team but we can also do home visits if required. From our comprehensive and affordable range of pet health care plans to complex surgeries, we will do all we can to ensure that your companion has a long, healthy and happy life.

The Surgery

We are located on the corner of Whitworth Road and Princess Street at the site of the former Globe, with convenient access for all areas of Rochdale and the surrounding areas, including Whitworth, Bacup, Littleborough, Shawclough and Norden. We have a large car park for our clients at the back of the building. This means that you do not have to struggle with street parking and makes your visit to the surgery safer. We are more than happy to accommodate owners who prefer to wait in the car with their pet, if that makes them more settled. Just book in and we will let you know when we are ready. The reception area is large, well lit and we have a separate waiting areas for cats and rabbits as we know they can get stressed too.

Our Services

We have a wide range of services available in the clinic. Veterinary and nurse consultations cover all aspect of preventative care including vaccinations and parasite control. We can do pet passports if you want to go travelling with your companion. In the event that your pet becomes ill, then if it is necessary bloods tests can be run in our laboratory, or we can take x-rays which are processed in our digital machine for immediate results. There is a large sterile theatre used to perform a variety of operations from neutering to orthopaedic procedures. All animals have teeth similar to our own and many develop dental disease. If this happens then we can do scale and polishing through to complex extractions and surgery.
